Nail Technician 350 Course
Nail Technician Course Description
The primary purpose of the Nail Technician Course is to train the
student in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work
habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to pass the State Board
examination and for competency in job entry-level positions as a Nail
Technician or related career field.
Upon completion of the course requirements, the determined graduate should be able to:
- Project a positive attitude and a sense of personal integrity and self-confidence.
- Practice proper grooming and effective communications skills and visual poise.
- Understand employer employee relationships and respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received.
- Perform the basic manipulative skills required for manicuring, pedicuring, and various methods of nail extensions.
- Apply the theory, technical information and related matter to assure sound judgments, decisions, and procedures.
The state of Minnesota requires the students to have 350 hours.

The
above hour and practical experience requirements fulfill the curriculum
requirements for an initial Nail Technician license in the state of
Minnesota.
The first 50 hours must be preclinical instruction in the theory of
sciences of anatomy, dermatology, and chemistry as related to
manicuring, electricity, and lights, infection control, safety
practices and Minnesota Statutes and Rules which pertain to the
practice of manicuring and elementary service skills.
